Why I love movies and why you should, too

If you’re wondering what Mo-Mo means, it came from Monika talks Movies’, as the original intention was to simply start a film blog. However I have soon realized I have much more to share πŸ™‚

But movies will probably always be the main topic here (although who knows!) and I just want to share with you in short why I love them so much..

Movies have helped me many times in my life to get through some tough times. They helped me find some much needed inspiration when I didn’t know how to carry on or when I simply needed another push. I believe you can find an answer to pretty much every question or life situation in films! And I don’t think enough people can see that. Sometimes, you just need to know where to look. And how. Which is why I am here.

I’m here to help you find some inspiration in this tremendous form of art which is my love and my passion.

I’ve had the pleasure of sharing and using this passion of mine for the past 6 years when I was workingΒ  for an international film festival and it was the best feeling ever. Films are such a universal language, they can spark a revolution – if nothing else then within ourselves and in our own lives. They can shape into our favorite memories, or become symbols for some significant life events. They can bring us together. They can help us to understand each other. And they can take us on adventures we could never take otherwise.

I hate to think what you’re gonna read here are reviews. I have a strong dislike towards this word as I often feel there are too many people reviewing films and claiming their opinnions to be the only ones that are right. Traditional review often makes you feel like if you disagree, you’re simply wrong.

Not my plan to make you feel that way at all. Although many of the posts are indeed reviews no matter how hard I try to avoid that word.

However, my aim is to talk about movies in a way that everyone can understand without needing to be a film expert. Pretty much like if you were having chat with your (fellow film-fanatic) friend. But also in a way that will let you see them in a slightly different way, that will inspire you or spark a raise some important topics.

But most importantly you’re always welcome to have your own opinnions! Yes, really!Β  In fact, I’d love to hear them! Because you know what? There is no right or wrong when it comes to movies and if a film I absolutely hate has even just one fan, then all the better! Because that proves it’s not been just a waste of money as it seems to me πŸ˜‰

(My outlook is probably best explained in my post Why Every Movie Matters so feel free to read it!)

So join me on this fascinating journey on which movies can take you! It’s an adventure you don’t want to miss!

Love,

M
