Sex and the City is a great teacher. And for us women it’s extremely empowering. And it’s most definitely still relevant today. Why? Because it’s about relationships. It’s about women. It’s about everything we as women are faced with not only while dating. And at the very core of it it’s about friendship. And none of these things can ever really go out of style, and none of it is ever gonna change much.
I have read a lot recently about how Hollywood is in crisis, how it fails to deliver movies that would engage the audience and how it’s lacking any kind of imagination – and frankly, I do agree. Luckily, there are still movies that tell stories in totally charming ways.
In the wake of the news of the new Doctor Who being cast by a woman for the first time in the tv show’s history, I couldn’t help but wonder – are there any boundaries for the Women Empowerment movement? Aren’t we perhaps going a little too far?
Movies can be mighty revealers. They might not exactly win Oscars, nor be critically acclaimed. They might even be films no one ever heard of, or films you would have never watched if it wasn’t by a chance. But maybe, just maybe, especially those, might become ground breaking for you. After all, inspiration and wisdom often lies in the most uncommonly places.
